School Library

• Back •

The philosophy of the School Library is based on the concept that its resources and services are an integral part of the instructional program.

To that end we provide access to our traditional book collection through our Online Public Access Catalog or OPAC, access to online databases, internet access from within the Library and guidance in how to conduct research with successful results.

Databases

Our databases are provided by the New York State Library. The New York Online Virtual Electronic Library or “NOVEL, is an online virtual library connecting New Yorkers to 21st century information via local libraries statewide. NOVEL is currently supported with temporary federal Library Services and Technology Act funds. New Century Libraries is an important statewide funding initiative currently before the Legislature that proposes permanent state funding for NOVEL."

(Please check in the library for the passwords to both areas)

Some of the databases found within Gale Access are:

Health Reference Center Academic - Business and Company Resource
Infotrac Junior Edition - K12
- The Twayne Authors Series - Gale Virtual Reference Library
Newspaper indexes

Some of the databases found within EBSCO Access are:
