"A
Night at the Museum"
The Academy
of St. Joseph held its first "Night at the Museum" on December 18, 2007.
My Sixth Grade Social Studies class did a take off on the popular movie
by creating both live and stationary exhibits illustrating ancient
civilizations in Egypt, China, Mexico, and India.

Nicole Agosto as Queen
Nephritiri
Parents and
students visited the Museum and were startled when King Tut sat up in
his tomb and explained how he ruled as the famous "Boy King."
Queen Nephritides, Cleopatra and Queen Hatshepsut, all dressed in full
costume, recited their life stories to visitors. Two students
played the authentic Egyptian Game for onlookers. Others explained
their models of pyramids, the Great Wall of China and more.
It was a
great learning experience for my students and for our visitors. We
hope to continue to find ways to bring history alive for our Academy
students and their families.
