FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH FIFTH
GRADE
April
14, 2008
FIELD TRIP
– The students in K-5 grades will all be going on a field trip on
Wednesday, April 30, to see a play performance At the Clare Rose
Playhouse at St. Joseph College. Permission slips have been sent home
and need to be returned by April 18th. Mark
your calendars now. The students will be allowed to wear their gym
clothes on this day, and they must bring a sack lunch (no bottles). We
will need chaperones, so please talk to your child’s teacher about
volunteering to go on this trip. Parents with small children will be
discouraged in volunteering as chaperons since all attention as a
chaperon needs to be on the students in their care. Thanks for your
support!
PARENT FELLOWSHIP MEETING – The
number of parents at the meetings is growing. Don’t miss out on the fun
of helping your child’s school, staying informed, and meeting other
parents who share the same values, problems, and ideas. So plan to
attend the next Parent Fellowship meeting TONIGHT at 7:00
p.m. in the Parlor Room.
On Sunday the Parent Fellowship will be hosting a
New Parent Brunch, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Come and join us, if you can, and help talk to our
new parents about your child’s experiences here at ASJ. Remind your
friends who are interested in ASJ to come too.
NOVENA FOR THE
POPE – The students, starting today, will be saying a Novena every morning
for the apostolic Journey of Pope Benedict XVI. The prayer is as
follows:
Heavenly
Father, look with love upon Benedict our Pope, your appointed
successor to Saint Peter on whom You built Your Church. May his
apostolic journey to the United States be a source of hope for
Your people and inspire within us a lively faith.
Father,
instill in your people a greater love for Your Church. May this visit of
our Holy father fill us with grace and transform our lives.
May it lead us ever closer to the new life You give us and to the
reward of heavenly Life promised in the Gospel.
We ask this
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
DENIM DAY
– On Friday, April 18th the students will be allowed to wear
jeans to school if they bring either $5 cash or $5 worth of canned goods
for a food drive to help restock Long Islands pantries. Thank you for
your support.
